HOPE FOR PEARL

Every student deserves an education.

Established by the Xin Hua Education Foundation (XHEF), the Hope For Pearl initiative has been one of AAG’s core philanthropic commitments under AAG Cares since 2015. This commitment reflects our belief that success carries a responsibility to uplift lives and create lasting, positive impact beyond business.

It all began with a simple belief.

击鼓的人,永远不知道鼓声可以传多远
He who strikes the drum never knows how far its sound will travel.

Across many rural regions of China, there are bright and determined students whose academic potential is overshadowed by financial hardship. The loss of a parent, single parent families, unstable household incomes, or mounting medical and living expenses often place further education beyond reach. For many of them, the opportunity to continue studying is not determined by ability, but by circumstance.

OUR SUPPORT FOR HOPE FOR PEARL

One act of kindness, generations impacted.

The Hope for Pearl initiative supports academically capable students from underprivileged rural families who might otherwise have to give up their education because of financial hardship.

In partnership with selected high schools across China, the initiative establishes Pearl Classes of 40 to 50 students. Each Pearl Student receives a living subsidy of RMB 7,500  that support them through 3 years of education, while partner schools waive tuition and accommodation fees for the full three years of high school.

Beyond financial support, the schools and XHEF also provide mentorship, character development and learning opportunities that help students grow in confidence, resilience and leadership.

By removing financial barriers and restoring access to education, the programme opens doors to opportunity and creates lasting impact for students, their families and their communities.
