AAG’s IP impacted me in ways no other school or workplace ever has. beyond gaining real-life skills and knowledge that traditional environments would never have taught me, IP opened my eyes to the kind of career i could actually build for myself and by extension, the potential i had within myself that i was not tapping on.
It also helped me uncover what i truly wanted in life through mapping out my goals and aspirstions, something i never had proper guidance on especially being so caught up in the day-to-day. realizing these things gave me the clarity to dream bigger instead of limiting myself to what i thought i was capable of.
None of this would have been possible without the personalised, genuine mentorship received by the mentors who closely guided me towards discovering who i can become, and teaching me some of the most important principles and values that i still uphold today.

When I first joined the AAG Internship Program (IP10), it wasn’t because I had a grand plan to enter financial advisory. I simply needed an internship to fulfil my school’s graduation requirement. But what I experienced went far beyond a ‘school requirement.’
One of the biggest realisations I had was that financial advisory isn’t just a job, it’s a sales-entrepreneurial career that can be run like a real business. Even without financial resources, I saw how a person could build, grow and eventually scale a meaningful career and business of their own. That level of independence and ownership was something I never thought possible before stepping into AAG.
The highlight for me was the mentorship. Seasoned practitioners were incredibly generous in sharing their real-life experiences. Perspectives that were authentic, practical, and completely different from the cookie-cutter theories we often hear in school. Those conversations shifted my worldview and shaped the way I think about work, people, and growth.
What truly set AAG apart was the culture. I felt that the agency genuinely prioritised people development and holistic growth. It wasn’t just about KPIs. It was about becoming a better thinker, communicator, teammate, and human being. That people-centric approach made me feel supported, valued, and inspired.
To any student considering this internship, I would say: be open-minded. Our minds are like parachutes, they only work when they’re open. Education should expand our world, not limit it. If you allow yourself to explore, you’ll realise how big the world truly is, and you may discover opportunities you never knew existed.

I first got introduced to AAG's Internship Programme in my third year of university, and I applied for it with an open mind to explore as many career options as possible as I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. My internship experience was a unique one as it was fully done over zoom due to COVID. I recall weeks before internship officially commenced, there was a lot of news spreading about a possible lockdown and when internship came about, it was circuit breaker. I was very impressed that the whole internship programme still went on, and it was honestly so fun and fulfilling that it was the best internship experience I ever had. That speaks so much on the efficiency and adaptability of AAG's leadership. Aside from the financial knowledge and corporate know-hows that I gained, my biggest takeaway is the mentorship and friendships that I still hold close to this day, 5 years after the internship. I would strongly encourage students still figuring their life out to give the Internship Programme a shot! It could be a new beginning of self-discovery.

Through the internship I have gain exposure into the finance industry not only in terms of personal finance and protection but also into equity valuation through a stock pitch. It has also allowed me to take a look at other countries’ financial systems, comparing and drawing insights between Singapore and them.
On top of helping me in my financial planning and protection. It is also my first touch at equity valuation! Understanding how to derive numbers, which is something I'm highly passionate about.

I joined the Internship Programme because I wanted early exposure to a professional environment while still studying. I was curious about the financial services industry, client work, and how real-world businesses operate.
The experience gave me a strong foundation in communication, discipline, and working with diverse people. I also gained confidence in presenting, understanding client needs, and handling responsibility.
As a Financial Advisor today, the skills I picked up from the Internship Programme directly support my work. From client communication to time management and problem-solving under pressure, the internship accelerated my growth and made transitioning into this industry much smoother.

My journey started during an internship with AAG during my final years at Nanyang Technological University when I wanted to learn more about the financial advisory industry. The workplace environment was something unique and different that I hadn’t seen in my other internship experiences — everyone was willing to help one another, and share their business tips so that we may learn from them. Most importantly, it was the mentorship that I valued the most, as my mentor had put in countless hours to show me different perspectives of the financial advisory industry and helped me throughout my journey as a financial consultant.
#1 Helping one another.
Being a financial consultant, you have to be forthcoming about sharing your knowledge. I choose to empower and educate my peers with financial knowledge so that we have the necessary financial literacy to all achieve our financial independence.
#2 The learning never stops.
Lifelong learning is a no-brainer for all of us. I am constantly learning from my clients and friends, as everyone is in a unique situation worth studying. Likewise, the solutions I offer to each of them are distinct and different as well. There are also certain aspects of finance that I learn from my friends that I wouldn’t have been exposed to being in this industry, so I enjoy being a teacher and a student at the same time to my clients.
#3 Come in with an open mind.
Apart from a willingness to learn, financial consultants should also have an open mind. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain! Don’t be too quick to jump to conclusions, or follow a stereotypical perception of what a financial consultant should be. Go out and explore, and experience for yourself before deciding what entails the job of a financial consultant, and what role you wish to play for your clients.

AAG's Internship Programme made my summer break so much more meaningful and fulfilling. I had the opportunity to deepen my understanding of financial literacy, meet new friends from different varsities, and experience a truly hands-on internship. Working on multiple group projects exposed me to diverse working styles and taught me how to collaborate more effectively.
Most importantly, the internship gave me real insights into the financial advisory career. I had the space to explore, learn, and eventually decide — without any pressure whether this was the path I wanted to pursue.
Looking back, it has genuinely changed my life.

I joined the AAG internship with an open mind, simply wanting to learn something new. But I walked away with far more than knowledge. I gained friends, mentors, and an entirely new perspective on what meaningful work really looks like.
This internship opened my eyes to the human side of finance and showed me how real advice can genuinely change lives. It pushed me to grow, step out of my comfort zone, and build confidence in conversations and presentations, skillsets relevant not just in school but in life.
If you are looking for an internship with lots of hands-on learning, mentors who have walked the path and fun experiences, AAG's internship will not disappoint.

Fresh out of JC, IP21 was my first “internship” experience… Not knowing what to expect, the program changed my perspective drastically. IP21 not only equipped me with essential financial and presentation skills, it gave me the opportunity to build valuable professional networks. We even flew overseas! If I could describe the experience in one word, it would be “fulfilling”, because of AAG, I was provided with the perfect platform to learn from ground zero.

Stepped into this company with no financial knowledge and no insight into the industry, but stayed because of the purpose behind the work and the environment here.
Throughout the summer internship, I learned so much about finance and how meaningful financial advisory can be in helping people make better decisions for their lives. I made friends from different universities and most importantly, met great mentors who guided me throughout this journey. Mentors who took the time to explain, challenge, and inspire me, and who helped shape my mindset and direction moving forward.
For my first experience in this field, I’m grateful I started with this company because it gave me the knowledge, clarity, and purpose I didn’t know I was looking for.
